5 Absolutely Unhinged Massiverse Theories on TikTok in the Wake of CC3
SPOLIERS SPOILERS SPOILERS for all of the SJM universe
Below are my favorite Massiverse theories that I have seen so far. I imagine as we get further from the CC3 release date we will get more and I simply can’t wait. It is so rare that a series captivates the masses in the way that SJM’s do and I love predicting what is to come.

Bryce and Azriel are mates

megbooks02 on TikTok has a 3 part series supporting her theory. I’m going to give you the highlights but her videos are certainly worth the watch. She says that when Theia was in a similar situation to Bryce at the end of CC2, her portal opened directly in front of her one true mate, Aidas. This suggests that it wasn’t truthteller calling Bryce to Prythian but her mate, Az. To explain the Hunt of it all, she points out that there are two kinds of mates, one chosen and one fated. I think we all got the vibe from CC1 and CC2 that Bryce and Hunt chose to be mates. CC3 Hunt was a different person entirely. megbooks02 mentions that as well, there is a clear difference between the romance in CC and ACOTAR. The most convincing part of this theory in my eyes was her last point. She talks about the antidote that Hypaxia made for the Asteri’s parasite. Once Ithan took it, it was suggested that he may have started to feel his mating bond with Perry. Ruhn had a much more obvious exclamation after he took it and declared that Lydia was his mate. We did not have that same moment with Bryce and Hunt. Their reunion was noticeably dull in comparison. This suggests that the parasite may have dulled their ability to identify a fated mate or at least it may have confused natural mating bonds. Her third video talks about the rarity of mates and the fact that the population being split between Lunathion and Prythian may have something to do with that.
Fury is a Daughter of Hell
This might be the most convincing theory on this list. reads.by.anaid on TikTok came up with it and it’s pretty brilliant, I actually saw this a few weeks before HOFAS came out. She starts out by mentioning that the name Thanatos is mentioned in both ACOWAR and CC2. It’s mentioned in ACOWAR that Thanatos is having issues with his daughter. HOSAB also mentions a Thanatos who is introduced as the Prince of the Ravine. We know that Sarah has said that when names are repeated, it means they are the same person (with the exception of Cresseida). reads.by.anaid then did some research on the Greek god Thanatos, who did have a daughter. What does that daughter’s name translate to? You guessed it, Fury. Finally, she points out when Fury mentioned that Danika scented her and knew something dangerous about her. This explains a lot about Fury, including why she’s traveling so much and her occupation. The furies, princesses of hell, have a lot of overlap with our CC Fury. They wear black, they’re assassins, and they can travel between worlds easier than your run of the mill fae. I loved this theory when I first saw it. CC3 didn’t do a whole lot with Fury but I read it with this theory in mind and it made a lot of sense.
The Under-King is a barrow-wight

This is another brilliant theory from reads.by.anaid on TikTok. Barrow-wights were introduced to us in the Throne of Glass series. Anaid quotes Kingdom of Ash pg. 318 when Lorcan describes what a barrow-wight is, “Creatures of malice and thought. They covet gold and treasure, and infested the tombs of kings and queens so they might dwell amongst it. They hate light of any kind…” She then references HOFAS when the Under-King is describing that he snuck into Lunation when the portal was opened to Midgard and that he liked this world better than the caves he was stuck in. She finally points out the parallel between the barrow-wight’s need for treasure and the death mark that the Under-King requires. I think this one is pretty convincing,
Mor was looking at a prince of hell in ACOFAS

I saw this one on reads.by.anaid’s TikTok and couldn’t leave it out. She is talking about the scene in ACOFAS when Mor is in the woods and sees a shadow that she describes as looking at her. reads.by.anaid points out the similarity between that shadow in the woods to the shadow that ended up being Apollion. The descriptions are eerily similar. Since I started to believe the theory that Fury was a daughter of hell, I have always that that her and Mor must have something in common or an overlap of some kind since they both have ties in the Court of Nightmares.
Erilea and Lunathion are the same
I’m not going to lie, I do not want this to be true but Sierra at the handle unhingedbooktalk on TikTok makes some pretty convincing points. She first notes that the Asteri built their palace on a giant salt slab and we know that Erilea has salt mines. She also points out the descriptions surrounding both Antica and Crescent City include olive groves and wheat fields. Perhaps the most convincing argument she makes is that the ancient city Ruhn describes when he is on the city ship lines up with what we know about Eyllwe, especially the wyrdmarks on their pillars and that it was said to be sinking. I don’t think SJM would have written that scene if it wasn’t important and this makes a lot of sense. I miss my fire-breathing bitch queen but Lydia is also an absolute legend so I’ll be ok if this is true.
